The 7 Deadly Sins, also known as the Capital Vices or Cardinal Sins, is a classification of objectionable vices that have been used since early Christian times to educate and instruct followers concerning fallen humanity’s tendency to sin. A series of digital paintings by Marta Dahlig depict the seven deadly sins, envy, lust, greed, vanity, avarice, sloth, wrath.

  • Great pics, I felt all of them really fit the sin they were trying to portray except for sloth. Something about the bubbles didn’t make me think sloth.

    • The bubbles are meant to represent sleep :P

      • Actually, the artist indicates the bubbles & swing are meant to represent being above earthly endeavors (like work), and spending time doing insignificant and useless things.

    • Sloth is the avoidance of physical or spiritual work. She’s wasting her time on a swing in the clouds blowing bubbles instead of doing something productive.

  • these are on deviantart. :D

  • It’s ironic, all of the dresses are strapless except for the dress in lust, which has thin straps.

    • i think it’s not ironic for the “fell- off” strap effect added a little more seducing look :)

  • I think they all are represented pretty well
    ^^

  • they re all so pretty
    >.<

  • These are all beautiful-never expected to find something like this on the sins.

    Loved avarice especially n_______n

  • Vanity means Greed and Avarice means Pride Correct?
    I’m not so sure….

    • Actually, it’s the exact opposite :D Vanity=Pride while Avarice=Greed. You can tell because Vanity is staring at herself in the mirror (while everything else around her is dried up and dead) while Avarice is sitting on a golden throne with a greedy look in her adorned eye.

  • i lyk da pics, they r graet and all but i have to ask, why use weman and not man or even both to represent the seven deadly sins? i kinda feel lyk wat u r saying in these pics is that weman define the seven deadly sins in their purest form. dats nt cool!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Lebogang, if the artist had used only men to depict the sins, you most likely wouldn’t have said a word. It is exactly this kind of bigoted and toxic feminist double standard – that no “disparagement” of women is allowed while men can be rubbished into the ground – that is why the male suicide rate is more than 4 times that of women in Western countries, among other injustices. But you don’t care about that, do you, lebogang, because all men are filthy raping scum and all women are innocent goddesses worthy only of worship, right? So please keep your self-righteous comments to yourself, because the particular brand of politically-correct poison you espouse is killing people, and those like you have yet to realise the price that is to pay.

      TL;DR: GFY.

  • this girls are so beautiful. im really impressed to such sins like that

  • They’re all so pretty and cool, even gluttony looks super pretty, which made me smile.
