American Farmer

American Farmer: Portraits from the Heartland-his first book-was published in the fall of 2008 by Welcome books. An ambitious work that has taken Mobley to over 200 farms and ranches all over the United States and features over 150 portraits, American Farmer celebrates the affirming spirit of rural life through the faces and words of the men and women who sustain and nurture the land. Epic in scop, yet deeply personal in substance, American Farmer follows in the photographic tradition of Richard Avedon’s watershed monograph In the American West and Mike Disfarmer’s Heber Springs series.

Paul Mobley lives in New York City and Michigan with his wife Suzanne, and their two wonderful daughters, Camden and Paige.
