Brandon Keehner is a talented medical/scientific illustrator from Cedar Rapids, IA. He received my B.A. in Biological/pre-Medical Illustration from Iowa State University, and will be graduating in May, 2013, with a Master of Science in Medical Illustration degree from the Medical College of Georgia.

Nature is often his subject matter, but he lights it up with color and personality. Using gouache, Brandon is able to play with a natural and loose flow often found in watercolors, combined with precision brushwork and vibrant colors similar to oil and acrylic paintings. The technique yields works which are striking from a distance but also rewarding upon closer inspection.
