145 Examples of Mangekyou Sharingans

Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It is one of the best selling manga of all time in Japan. Mangekyo Sharingan is one of the best creations by Kishimoto Masashi. I’m big fan of Naruto and today I will pose a collection of 145 examples of Mangekyou Sharingans created for Naruto fans in dA.

The Mangekyou Sharingan (Lit. meaning “Kaleidoscope Copy Wheel Eye”), noted to be the “heavenly eyes that see the truth of all of creation without obstruction”, is an advanced form of the Sharingan that has only been activated by a handful of Uchiha. This rare dojutsu (eye-based technique) is an advanced form of the Sharingan, a unique trait of the Uchiha clan. Not every member of the clan can awaken it, and the path to its activation is often steeped in pain and loss.

The Mangekyou Sharingan grants its wielder powerful abilities, including access to high-level genjutsu and ninjutsu. Additionally, each Mangekyou Sharingan is unique to its user, which leads to a fascinating array of designs and capabilities.

Itachi Uchiha’s Mangekyou Sharingan

Itachi Uchiha, a prodigy of the Uchiha clan, was one of the first characters seen in *Naruto Shippuden* with a Mangekyou Sharingan. His design features three points extending outward, resembling a pinwheel.

Itachi’s Mangekyou Sharingan grants him two primary abilities: Amaterasu and Tsukuyomi. Amaterasu creates black flames that consume everything in their path, while Tsukuyomi is a potent genjutsu that allows Itachi to control the perception of time, effectively torturing his opponents within their minds.

Sasuke Uchiha’s Mangekyou Sharingan

Itachi’s younger brother, Sasuke Uchiha, awakens his Mangekyou Sharingan after a significant personal loss. His design is more elliptical, with two overlapping ellipses forming a distinct pattern.

Like his brother, Sasuke can use Amaterasu. However, he can also control and extinguish these black flames, a skill known as Blaze Release. His second ability, Susanoo, creates a giant spectral warrior for defense and offense. This ability is shared among several Mangekyou Sharingan users.

Shisui Uchiha’s Mangekyou Sharingan

Shisui Uchiha, the so-called “Shisui the Teleporter,” possesses a Mangekyou Sharingan with a unique four-point star pattern. His ability, Kotoamatsukami, is arguably the most powerful genjutsu in the Naruto universe.

Kotoamatsukami can subtly manipulate someone’s thoughts and actions without their knowledge. The power of this ability is so immense that it’s considered the “ultimate genjutsu.”

Obito Uchiha’s Mangekyou Sharingan

Obito Uchiha (also known as Tobi) has a Mangekyou Sharingan with a design resembling a four-pointed shuriken. His abilities, Kamui and the ability to control the Ten-Tails, are central to the plot of *Naruto Shippuden*.

Kamui allows Obito to manipulate space-time, enabling him to teleport himself or parts of his body to another dimension. This ability makes him virtually invulnerable in battle, as physical attacks phase right through him.

Madara Uchiha’s Mangekyou Sharingan

Madara Uchiha, the legendary founder of the Uchiha clan, wields a Mangekyou Sharingan with a complex three-pointed spiral pattern. His abilities include Susanoo and control over the Nine-Tails, but his most awe-inspiring skill is Limbo: Border Jail.

Limbo allows Madara to create shadow copies of himself in an invisible world, which can then interact with the physical world. This ability provides a formidable defense and offense, making Madara a nearly insurmountable opponent.

Indra Otsutsuki’s Mangekyou Sharingan

As the original possessor of the Sharingan, Indra Otsutsuki’s Mangekyou Sharingan is unique. Its design is intricate, with a three-layered pattern resembling a complex circular diagram.

Indra’s abilities are less defined due to his limited screen time. However, he is shown using Susanoo, suggesting his power level is comparable to other prominent Uchiha members.

Customized Mangekyou Sharingan Designs

The beauty of the Mangekyou Sharingan lies not only in the unique abilities it grants but also in its distinctive, personalized designs. The design is a reflection of the user’s personality and journey, making it all the more fascinating. This individuality has inspired fans worldwide to create customized Mangekyou Sharingan designs, reimagining this powerful dojutsu in new and exciting ways.
