Lu Cong
Lu Cong is a contemporary American portrait artist. He is regarded by many as one of the most distinctive young artists to recently emerge from the American West. His paintings center around the faces of his carefully chosen subjects. His style pays homage to 18th Century Romantics, yet it is unmistakably conceived in and relevant to the contemporary era. His portraits do not simply capture the physical and emotional state of the subject, rather they beckon to establish the complicated psychological interactions that ensue when one comes face to face with the sensual, the inexplicable, and the unsettling.

Jacek Yerka
Jacek Yerka was born in Toruń, Poland, in 1952 – where he later studied fine art and graphic design. According to Yerka, he was pressured by his university instructors to eschew detail and realism in favor of the fashion of the times – but did not relent, adhering to the meticulous classic Flemish technique that still typifies his work. In time they came to see him as a brilliant – though troubled – talent. Yerka graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, specializing in printmaking. He began working full time as an artist in 1980.

  1. I’ve met Lee Price at one of her studios at a recent ‘open studios event’ – amazing to see her work up close. The amount of colors she was working with in just one area of her paintings threw me for a loop! There had to be at least 10 shades of gray – an amazing artist and a lovely person to boot – I feel fortunate to have seen her work in person – these paintings are intensely created and larger than life.

  2. Just one woman included? Looks like the future of art isn’t going anywhere fast for equality.

    • It’s clearly stated in the text that Kwon Kyung Yup is female. And in the comment above yours – that so is Lee Price. Some of the names are not obvious, so I can’t say if there are few more.

Now, stop nitpicking on the negative things without reading the given information properly, and enjoy the art.

  3. “Just one woman included? Looks like the future of art isn’t going anywhere fast for equality.”

Then more women should start painting. Not like there’s a law preventing them. Jesus. And equality is a principle, not a practice.

  4. these ar fantastic and seriously good. i wish i could be like them…..

  5. You’re Right These Are Extremely Talented Painters.

Some Of These Works Can Pass As Photographs And They Are All Highly Imaginative

  6. Why does talented translate to hyper-realism? Don’t get me wrong the technical skill is stunning but there is more to painting.

  7. This is Art at it’s finest extrememly talented people with allot to say!
Love the tweeks and turns, “life is a mind fuck anyway” Hope to see more sinpiring artists
